Museo Soumaya

Museo Soumaya (Blvd. Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 303, Granada, Mexico City) – located in the upscale Polanco district (where many of the capital’s high-end stores can be found), this museum houses over 60,000 works that span the centuries (including works by Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Vincent van Gogh and El Greco Rodin, Dali and other big-name artists). The Museo’s building was designed by architect Fernando Romero, who was responsible for its eye-catching futuristic look. The museum is owed its existence to the generosity of billionaire Carlos Slim, whose financial support permits the museum to offer free admission to all visitors. To no surprise, this is the most visited museum in Mexico. Free admission. Hours: 10:30 am – 6:30 pm daily.
