Corona Capital (Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Av, Viad. Río de la Piedad S/n, Granjas México, Iztacalco, Mexico City) — Corona Capital could be considered the first big international music festival which started to bring artists to Mexico that we thought we’d never see (especially in the rock and alternative realm).
Every November, at curve 4 of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez race track (located in the southeast outskirts of the capital — where the Mexican Grand Prix is usually held), more than 85 000 people gather to Corora Capital and listen to the bands and their music. During its first editions, we saw huge artists such as Pixies, Echo and the Bunny Men, James, Mogwai, Portishead and The Strokes. Over the past few years, Foo Fighters, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Lorde, New Order, and Robbie Williams have all played. See the event website for details: www.coronacapital.com.mx
